Child Safety Policy

1. Our commitment

We reject every form of sexual abuse and exploitation of children and adolescents. We work to ensure Quirky is never used to produce, store, distribute or obtain such material, nor to bring adults closer to minors for sexual purposes.

2. What is forbidden

• any image, video, text or audio depicting or suggesting a minor in a sexual context;
• grooming: building a relationship with a minor with a view to abuse or exploitation;
• soliciting, offering, trading or commercialising child abuse material;
• sexualising children or adolescents, including through drawings, edits or AI-generated content;
• creating an account while under 18, or helping anyone circumvent that restriction.

3. How to report

• In the app: tap report on the profile, quirk or conversation and choose the reason “Involves a minor”. These reports are read by a member of our team before any other.
• By email: firenze@firenzeprogramacao.com.br with the subject “URGENT — Child safety”.

You do not need to be certain to report. We would rather review a false alarm than let something through.

4. What we do with a report

1. Human review: every report is read by a person on our team; those marked “Involves a minor” are handled before all others.
2. Removal of the content as soon as the breach is confirmed, with permanent deletion of the files.
3. Account suspension while we investigate (the person cannot sign in, post, like or chat) and termination when confirmed.
4. Keeping what the authorities need: the report (reason, description and the reported account's identifier) and a copy of the reported content, taken at report time, are kept for 12 months even if the account is deleted.
5. Reporting to the competent Brazilian authorities (Federal Police and SaferNet Brasil) and, where required, to international child-protection bodies such as NCMEC.

5. Prevention

• Mandatory age: we ask for a date of birth and a declaration of adulthood at sign-up; the app does not accept dates of birth under 18 and deletes accounts found to belong to minors.
• Automated moderation: every image is analysed before it becomes visible; videos are analysed through frames extracted on the server.
• Profile verification by selfie, to reduce fake profiles.
• Closed chat: nobody can send a message, media or a testimony without a mutual match, and profiles have no message button. You may unmatch or block at any time — that ends the conversation, deletes its messages and prevents new attempts.

6. Legal basis

This policy follows Brazil's Child and Adolescent Statute (Law 8.069/1990), in particular articles 240 and 241-A to 241-E, which criminalise producing, distributing, acquiring and storing child sexual abuse material, and the Brazilian Internet Act (Law 12.965/2014) regarding record retention and cooperation with authorities.
